About Us
The South Tampa Microschool Foundation was established as a not-for-profit organization in 2023. Our mission focuses on creating scholarships for STM students, engaging the community to invest in education and ensuring our students and teachers have the necessary resources to achieve educational success. Our long-range fundraising plan also includes making capital improvements, updating technology and equipment and other STM priorities as directed by the school.
South Tampa Microschool is committed to growing lifelong learners, creative thinkers, and problem solvers with a focus on STEAM education, and hands-on experiences. Initially created during the pandemic to instill a sense of normalcy with an inaugural class of 8 students, we now have over 90 students who are part of the South Tampa Microschool family.
This purposefully small capacity of mixed-age classes allows us to offer low student-to-teacher ratios while giving educators the ability to take a whole- child teaching approach that includes meaningful learning and overall child development. While we have made great strides in our mission, this exciting enrollment surge has also created the opportunity to find a larger facility for STM students. In the coming year, we will be moving into a new space that will give our students and teachers the area they need to grow, both mentally and physically.
